Inspiration - Puli

Went to the Chung Tai Chan Monastery in Puli today.  It was beautiful and very relaxing. Here are some pictures that I hope to inspire me.

We also drove into town and had a walk around before heading back home.

Wire wrap rings...

Last night when I went to bed, all I could think about were wire wrap rings, so first thing in the morning I tried my hand at it and this is what I got on my 1st attempt:

Nice, huh?

Then I got out my book and read the directions for their wire wrap rings and tried again and got this:

I came to realize that I definitely would like to have thicker wire and that a ring mandrel would be very helpful.  But so far they are really fun to make so keep an eye out for more of these.

Inspiration - Hsinchu

I went to the Cultural Affairs Bureau to look for travel information about Hsinchu.

Instead I found an art exhibit of calligraphy, ink drawings and watercolors by Jie Derly.

There was also a sign for an Art Store but it was closed for what looked like remodeling.

I finally figured out how to set up a Facebook Page for Tashay Designs and how to put a Facebook link on my blog....Very Exciting Stuff!!! hahaha
